Barangay Panasahan
Barangay Panasahan is a barrio in the southeastern portion of Malolos, surrounded by rivers called Larangay, Parila, and Balayong. It has an extensive area of 3000 square kilometers in total land mass. The name "Panasahan" is derived from the term "Panay sasahan," which is said to represent the primary livelihood of the residents when this barangay was first established, which involved harvesting sasa palm. Presently, the barangay is well-known for producing bags and wallets. It also has a prosperous trade. The former sasa palm plantations are now relatively small, but there are still large fishponds. In Malolos, Barangay Panasahan is one of the first villages. Baranggay Panasahan was discovered in the 1700s, and the names of baptized natives from this village were recorded in the canonical records of the Malolos Church, according to information obtained in 1980 from the committee of the 400th Anniversary of Malolos. It's possible that the Panasahan villagers received their first Christian education in 1598 when Fray Roque de Barrionuevo established a missionary church in Matimbo.
